Requirements For Different Contracting Licenses Part 2

In part 2 of Requirements For Different Contracting Licenses we will continue to give examples of different specialty contracting licenses that are offered and what requirements are needed. Again, all of the basic requirements for any contracting license is typically the same, however as construction lawyers in Jacksonville, we can tell you that once you get into the breakdown of the specialty licenses offered, the differences are substantial. 6. Commercial Pool Contractor/Residential Pool Contractor

To obtain a Commercial Pool Contractor and/or a Residential Pool Contractor license one must have four years of experience; including one year in the construction of public or commercial pools, as well as commercial installation of the following: excavation/compacting, electrical components, deck work, interior surface preparation/finishing, plumbing components, shell placement, and tile work. Also required is one year of supervisory experience.

7. Plumbing Contractor

The requirements for a Plumbing Contractor license includes a total of four years of experience in the installation of roof/storm drainage, waste piping, preventing back-flow, sanitary sewer drainage, water distribution systems/lines, and venting drainage. Also required is one year of supervisory experience.

8. Solar Contractor

To receive a Solar Contractor license, one must have a total of four years of experience of photovoltaic systems, swimming pool/spa solar heating systems, and domestic water solar heating systems. Also required is one year of supervisory experience.

9. Specialty Structure Contractor

To become a Specialty Structure Contractor licensee, it is required to have a total of four years of experience in residential/commercial fabrication, aluminum and allied product utilization, wall sections, roof sections, and windows. One year of supervisory experience is also required.

10. Glass And Glazing Specialty Contractor

A Glass and Glazing Specialty Contractor license includes four years total experience in the installation of windows and glass, swinging and sliding glass doors, and cutting/installing glass and mirrors. This license requires one year of supervisory experience as well.
