Tampa EB-5 Visa Attorney

Since our inception, the United States has been fertile ground for the blossoming of groundbreaking ideas. For over 240 years, people have come to this country with concepts, determination, and know-how and have developed some of our country’s most successful businesses. This continued success is being carried out through the EB-5 Visa program.

What is an EB-5 Visa?

The EB-5 Visa program allows individuals from foreign countries to enter the United States for the purpose of starting a business. According to United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), individuals who are granted an EB-5 visa must start a business that is either a corporation, partnership, joint venture, sole proprietorship, business trust, or holding company.

EB-5 Visa Requirements

USCIS grants 10,000 EB-5 visas per year. Adhering to the requirements is critical. A Tampa EB-5 lawyer can help you through the process; however, there are three basic qualifications:

  • The individual must establish or invest in a for-profit business.
  • The individual must invest at least $1 million in the business or $500,000 if the business is in a targeted employment area (a rural area or one with a high unemployment rate).
  • The business must create 10 new jobs.

The investment can take the form of cash, cash equivalents, equipment, inventory, or indebtedness secured by assets owned by the individual.

The jobs created from the investment must be verifiable positions. However, the investment can directly lead to the creation of a job or the result of the investment can indirectly lead to the creation of a job.
